DUST COLLECTORS

Today’s industrial environment is extremely clean. Particulate matter can no longer simply be exhausted into the atmosphere.

Excessive dust and particulate matter may cause the following problems:

  • respiratory health issues
  • dust fires and/or dust explosions
  • damage to sensitive equipment such as PC’s
  • slippery and/or dusty work environment
  • complaints by workers
  • complaints by neighbours to council

GTD has designed numerous Dust Collectors for customer specific applications over the past 25 years. This experience has facilitated designs capable of trapping the smallest of particulate matter from an air stream.

Of late, we have designed several Dust Collectors for the Coffee Roasting Industry. Generally, Council requirements dictate the installation of two Dust Collectors per typical Coffee Roaster installation; a Chaff Collector, and a Raw Bean Dust Collector.

The role of the Chaff Collector is to trap the chaff created during the Coffee Roasting process, before the exhaust fumes are incinerated. These Chaff Dust Collector units employ 'cyclone' collection to separate the chaff from the air stream.

The Raw Bean Dust Collector is designed to trap the extremely fine particulate or ‘Coffee Bean Dust’ agitated whilst transferring the raw coffee beans from the hopper to the Coffee Roaster. Again 'cyclone' collection is employed to separate the dust from the air stream.

Dust Collectors can be designed so that the particulate matter is trapped within the Dust Collector itself for later emptying, or a bag can be attached for quick swaps on the go.

GTD’s designs are low maintenance, easily installed and economically priced.

GTD also offer Incinerators for the Coffee Roasting Industry.
